Momilies

Today, I told my darling daughter Sparkle a Momily from my own youth:  "Hysteria need not prevail" as she was screaming about not being able to find something.

It's certainly better than "I'll give you something to cry about," one I swore I'd never use, given its connotation with child abuse in pop culture.

So, what phrases from Mom do you find popping out of your mouth?  Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?

I would not let Sparkle get the bubble bath filled goldfish in the checkout line goodie bins at the store.

"You're mean, mommy," Sparkle pouted.

"Yes, yes, I am," I told her.

"You're Mommean."  Sparkle crossed her arms and looked away from me, frowning fiercely.  "Mommean, Mommean, Mommean!"

My obvious delight made her quite cross.
