Evidently, I'm getting old

X-rays show more arthritis showing up in my joints, but nothing else.  I'm going to start straight up painkillers, for my other meds make me throw up, which is bad for a diabetic on shots.

It may be that I am in for a long haul of my back always hurting, or that I strained muscles, and it will get better soon (or not so soon).  Pretty much what I thought before I went to the doctor's, but at least now I know for sure what I was pretty certain of before, that I did not have a spinal injury doing this to me.

That's a relief, anyway.

YMMV, of course, but Colleen and I have found that plain old aspirin is often the most effective painkiller for arthritis. I can also use naproxin, but she can't. Go figure.

that doesn't sound fun... I hope the painkillers help without messing up too many other things!

I know a couple of people with liver problems because they have to take medicine for chronic pain. I'd like to avoid that.

Hope your back pain vanishes like snow in the spring!

I support that stance! I always worry about that when I have to take pain killers for long periods of time...

Feh.. you're a child..

Is it possible that it's like the back pain I used to have when my back wasn't strong enough to support me? I can show you some exercises.

I think I would like that. I haven't been doing my Curves, because it hurts, so building up strength could only help, even if it is arthritic in nature.

Thank you.

You know the cat-and-cow stretch? That would be the first thing to start with.

Building core strength is a huge thing.

and yes, getting old has some serious suckage factor...

Mooo-rrrOW OW OW! Trying it. Arching the back *UP* ain't bad. Low back to center bites. It's probably really good for me. I can get up from the floor by myself afterwards, which counts as an improvement.
