I had a very stressful week at work,
with new students, and chunk of my scalp missing from getting between and amongst a girl fight. I always swear I won't do that, but when a bunch of adults are standing by because it isn't "their" job to help, and one of the staff who always saves my butt is getting hurt, you know I have to wade in and do something until enough people arrive to get things under control. I also am worried about a bunch of other stuff having to do with whether my position will be replaced by a freaking computer to align with W's No Child Left Behind Act (I may not have a job by the end of the school year). And this week just seemed like it was full moon behavior all week!

So, on Friday night, I decided I would abandon any pretense to keeping to my diabetic diet, and would comfort stress eat out to my heart's content. My blood sugars lately have been ping-ponging with the stress, being waaaaay to high, and then after disasters at work ending up being too low. My morning blood sugars have been thirty points higher than I want, even when I am *really* behaving myself, and exercising, and not cheating, and I don't *know* what factor is making this happen.

I went over to friends' for anime night, and went to the Greek restaurant for takeout. I've now been stopping by there often enough that the ladies who work their Friday nights take out the baklava as soon as I walk in the door. So, I order the gyro, the grape leaves, the hummus and *two* large baklavas. At anime, I drank coffee with real sugar, and topped off with a coke later in the evening. All in all, about twenty exchanges, when I would normally have around 5 or 6.

And my morning blood sugars? About twenty points lower than when I was being good. Not that I'm making a practice of such extravagance.
