I went to a Women's Imaging Clinic for tests today.

Uterine UltraSound:  External belly, fine.  Nice being able to view the screen, albeit at an odd angle.
Internal camera/wand:  not supposed to hurt, only pressure, tell us if it hurts...PAIN! and then blood.  I was upset by this, but the technician was calm, and unfazed.  She unbent enough to say that while she was NOT a reader or physician, images and event matched closely with uterine cysts, which are like balloons that fill up with blood, and can break if rubbed or pressed against.  The bleeding stopped quite quickly, which reinforces that notion.

Mammogram:  digital, and she let me look at the pictures.  She said that while she was not a reader, she was a screener that flagged images if anything looked suspicious for immediate attention, and that my pictures looked perfect, with no reason for anyone to worry about anything.

The images will be read on Tuesday, because of Martin Luther King Day on Monday.  My doctor's office will be informed of results on Wednesday, which means that I should have results Thursday or Friday.

Cysts are way, way better than some of the other options. Let's go with cysts.

Yah cyst would be ok. sorry for the discomfort and PAIN though dear.

They did some pretty interesting (in that Chinese way) things when they were scanning my ovaries. Outside not helpful -- well we'll just look at this from the inside - I'm sure this entire machine fits just .. fine .. yeah.

Good news on the Mammogram! Please nag me to go get another one before the year is out, I'm 2 years overdue.

We're looking forward to good news from you but I do sympathize with you over the entire process. Star Trek made it look so easy...

I'm sorry it hurt :-(

Hopefully the technician is right and the mammogram is clear.

We care. Keep us posted as you feel comfortable doing.

Isn't waiting just so much fun. I had my x-ray on Tuesday and was told 3-5 days for results. This is the end of day Three. Now I have to wait through the weekend. Mine is only a two day weekend not a three day one. You would think that I would get better at waiting, but no, I still suck at it. At least over the weekend I have stuff to keep me busy, at home I have to make sure I keep busy. (G) I hope we both get nice results.

I'm sorry about the pain, but it sounds like a good result, all things considered. Here's hoping that the doc reports back the same way.

Sorry there was pain! I've learned to not believe them when they say that, the hard way unfortunately....

Very nice that the tech shared what she did with you (and remained calm)! Sometimes they don't volunteer a thing.

*hugs* and good thoughts!

I can totally sympathize... I've been dealing with some of those kind of invasive tests as well... no fun!

Those things put me more up close and personal than _I_ ever wanted to be with machinery !

And "it won't hurt" is only true when the operator is good, you're healthy, and there is nothing to find!

Cysts are dealable and one might've burst from the pressure. If so, I hope there is nothing left to do with it (to residual bits to remove).

A lot of things that they say won't hurt actually do hurt.

I hope cysts is the worst of it.

*very gentle hugs*
