Swim, Swam, Swum!

There were only two lap lanes, so I ended up sharing (as did the other lane.) We swimmers all thought that the outer lap lanes seemed shorter than the inside ones, but the guards all said it was the same 25 yard distance. I lost track of my lap sets, but I swam for an hour and a half straight. I swam slowly, it is true, but without stopping.
Sparkle amused herself at times by swimming with me alongside the lap lane until she got to the deep end rope, where she waited for me, and swam back to the wall with me. She was pleased because she "beat" me every time. She wanted to get to the wall first, and I just kept up my slow, even strokes, so she was able to do it.
I also bopped my head four times against the wall end doing elementary backstroke ("chicken-eagle-snake!" stroke) while cloudgazing. I would see the puffy white clouds build and grow above me, with the setting sun making them such pretty colors, and I'd see shapes, and bop! I'd be at the end of my lane again. Luckily, I have mentioned I was swimming slowly. Some children took to warning me as I came to the wall, I was so bad!
In the evening sun, planes flying overhead are lit up from underneath, and glow pinkly, little sparks against the blue sky. I also saw many dragonflies zipping over the surface of the pool, like it was a pond. I had to be careful not to look at the Y's west-facing windows, because they were reflecting the sunset, and I didn't want to go blind.
After our shower and hair washing, it was too late for a bike ride tonight. I took some preventative anti-inflammatory meds, though, because zero to just as much as I'd done a month ago in one leap may have been too much. I hadn't actually even wanted to go to the Y tonight, but Sparkle really, really wanted to go, and I reluctantly gave in. I just figured that as long as I was there, I could at least swim a bit. Then I just kept swimming.
And Sparkle was so glad to have gone, she didn't even fuss when I washed and conditioned her hair. Mine tonight is curly again. I think either the chlorine might be doing it, because it was curling when I was swimming with J regularly, or, it is curling again tonight because it is uggy, muggy, and my hair might curl with high humidity? So, after a long bit of not swimming after J left for the West, Sparkle got me back to the Y tonight, for the ChildWatch pool time. We arrived to find the inside pool closed and locked up, but the outside pool was open. It was in the seventies, on a school night, so it wasn't crowded at all.
