My darling Sparkle has been watching the DVDs of The PowerPuff Girls. In one episode, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, along with the children of the City of Townsville, battle the forces of evil by eating broccoli.
So, Sparkle has been begging for broccoli for two weeks, asking daddy to buy it at the store. He was reluctant, not really liking broccoli himself, but today, when Sparkle was with him at the store, reminding him in person, he did.
We watched Sparkle with great interest as she took her small buttered and salted "tree" upon her fork. "YUM YUM!" she said, happily expecting a treat, and put it into her mouth.
I will give Sparkle full credit and say that she did not spit it out, but bravely scrunching up her face, she heroically ate that bite.
We applauded her for being brave and trying new things, and her big brother Dino cheerfully ate up her remaining portion from the serving dish, because broccoli is one of his most favorite veggies.
