I am taking my banjo over to Marcon practice tomorrow with [livejournal.com profile] pondside  & [livejournal.com profile] solomons_pond  to see whether I should bring it to Marcon filk, or if I need to wait until Confluence or OVFF or even later before going "public" with my attempts.  [livejournal.com profile] fuzzyvanman , [livejournal.com profile] rms_butterfly  , & M (whose LJ handle I forget) can put in their two cents worth, too.

Well, the theme *IS* horror...

Regardless of whether you decide to go "public," I hope you bring it, and maybe we can figure out some banjo-friendly fiddle tunes!

Yay Marcon!

Mwee! I'll be at Marcon with Wen, so I'll see you... and I'll be watching; I'd love to hear you play.

(I found out how cool banjo can be by listening to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones!)

Oh, bring it! I'm sure there's fun to be had with it, even if you aren't up to the level Béla Fleck, or Béla Bartok, or even Béla Lugosi.

Okay, I'll have to work something out on TB Jr. now.
(As opposed to TC Skinny, who still has to go the guitar doctor.)

I tuned Rosalie down two half-steps for a song that the church band wanted to sing in a lower key this morning. At Tuesday's rehearsal, she was raw, throaty, and a little wobbly. This morning the wobbly was gone. I'm wondering if I leave her like that until or through this coming weekend, the stresses and tensions will have readjusted for the worse or for the better, when I eventually tune her back up to true.
