Waiting for the third bad thing.

 I found out a friend of mine of twenty eight years, Ann Cecil, passed away this morning due to cancer.  She was always so kind to me, from when I was a teen in fandom to offering me space in her room at Confluence in recent years, helping me afford to go.  It hurts so much to realize I will never see her at a con again.  She was genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever known.

I got a chance to see her one last time at Christmastime, at her holiday party.  I'm so glad I went.

I also had a doctor's appointment today.  I may have fibroids, or endometriosis, or uterine polyps, or even cancer.  So, on Friday, I get to go have an ultrasound to get a further idea of what ails me.  I am too upset about Ann to really get freaked out about my own bad possibilities, but it was bad news I didn't want to hear.  I'll also have a mammogram, since I'm due, and the place that does the ultrasound also does those.

I seems to me that bad things come in threes.  I'm waiting for the third bad thing.
