Today, my darling four year old daughter delighted me by singing the 20th Century Fox fanfare music in front of the Star Wars movie.

It goes right into the Star Wars theme, and I've always found it irresistable, so it's nice to know it's a generational thing.

It's funny how forever and always whenever I hear the 20th Century Fox music fanfare I will always hear the Star Wars theme right after it.

Funny how such things get cemented in your head. It's like when I see trailers before a movie now I still subconsciously wait for a "Return of The King" trailer even five years after the movie came out :). It's just that I still remember breathlessly waiting for those trailers, more than just about any movie trailer I'd ever seen.

Yeah, John Williams did that on purpose, composing the Star Wars theme in the same key and opening. Brilliant.

My daughter, whose first in theatre movie at age 2 was Star Wars, the original (1), so she Always Thought the fanfare was followed by the Star Wars theme. Imagine her surprise the first time she heard a 20th Century Fox fanfare that wasn't Star Wars. It was on TV. She ran in expecting Star Wars and It wasn't there. Instant 2 year old meltdown.

And yes the Genes are amazing. Meet the grandsons, all fans. The Geek Genes are Strong in these kids. The fannish and geek stories are endless and great fun. :D I'm a Happy Grandma!

(1)no New Hope, No IV, just Star Wars
