Last night, I was sitting reading a book in my bedroom, when my darling daughter came in and said "Momma kin has pretty necklace." (LOL cats, rejoice in that grammar, which is at least an original sentence and not a quote.)
She then said "Momma needs earrings match," and chose from my earring tree a pair of dragon earrings holding pearls, which in fact match the pendant
pondside gave me beautifully. Instead of giving them to me, however, she went in front of my mirror and hung them from the tops of her ears by the hooks. She returns to me.
"I kin has necklace," she says winningly.
"Why should I give you my necklace?" I ask.
"Because I have earrings!" she says.
