Do-bobs

Sparkle now has a chin-length bob with very short bangs.  She loves it!  She sat rock-solid still in the chair, grinning her gap-toothed grin.  No more ponytails for a while!

The stylists at the salon said that for children with scissors incidents, Sparkle had actually left them a lot to work with.  Having seen a link or two from my friends, I now agree.

Sparkle now says that she has a "Haircut explorer sticker," from Dora the Explorer.  Actually, now that I think of it, her haircut is rather like Dora's.

I suspect you're absolutely correct. She said today that now she looks like (cousin's name).

The Duchess managed to cut a huge honking hunk out of her bangs last year. She did not leave the barber with much to work with. We made her wear it that way until she had enough to cut it back to properly. Since she tends to be rather fussy about her appearance (she was the only preschooler I've met who needed to be told, "You can only wear dresses to school so long as you DO get them dirty on the playground!" because I didn't want her sitting around trying to keep her dress nice instead of running about like kids should), this was a fairly effective consequence. At least she hasn't taken a scissors since then to anything she oughtn't, and she occasionally mentions the incident, so I guess it made an impression.
